Nelson Brothers Straight Rye Whiskey is a straight rye from the Green Brier Distillery in Nashville, Tennessee, sold in a 75cl bottle. It is made from sourced whiskey that is finished and blended to the specification of the Nelson Brothers.
Andy and Charlie Nelson revived the Green Brier Distillery in 2014, restoring a family legacy that goes back to their great-great-great-grandfather Charles Nelson's original distillery. The rye keeps the bracing bite of the style while bringing forward flavours and aromas that conventional rye mash bills tend to underexpress.
The nose is zesty with rye spice, herbs and bright grain. The palate is bracing and spicy, led by rye, and the finish is warm and lingering with spice and grain sweetness.
