New Era The Witches Brew is an 8 year old single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at cask strength. It is a limited Halloween release from New Era Whiskey & Social Club, and the bottle is numbered Volume CXXIII (123).
The label shows a witch presiding over a bubbling cauldron, surrounded by colourful Halloween imagery. Because it comes from one barrel, the bourbon reflects the character of that single cask rather than a blend.
Tasting notes describe vanilla, caramelised sugar, toasted oak, dark cherry and baking spice on the nose. The palate is full-bodied, with caramel, vanilla bean, dark fruit, cinnamon, toffee and charred barrel.
