This is a bourbon from New Holland Brewing & Distilling Company in Holland, Michigan, bottled at 50.5% in a 750ml bottle. It is finished in barrels that previously held the company's Dragon's Milk bourbon barrel-aged stout.
The spirit is made from a high-barley mash bill and first aged in new charred American oak barrels. It then spends 90 days in the stout barrels.
Butterscotch, warm vanilla, fresh bread and sweet malt open the nose, with toasted oak and a little allspice. The palate has stone fruit, butterscotch and a malty, cereal character, with roasted dark malt and burnt toast. The finish is medium to long, with nutty malt, dry charred oak, allspice and a hint of dark chocolate.
