This is a seven-year-old straight bourbon from New Louisville Barrel House, finished in honey barrels and bottled at 65% ABV (130 proof) in a 70cl bottle. North Pole Nectar is a Christmas edition, and its label shows a festive barrel-house scene with Santa-inspired imagery.
The honey barrel finish adds honey and brown sugar to the caramel and vanilla of the bourbon itself.
The nose is typically described as honey, caramel, vanilla bean, toasted oak, brown sugar, cinnamon and dark fruit. The palate is rich, with honeyed sweetness, toffee, caramelised sugar, baking spice, oak and char, and the finish is long and warming.
