New Riff 8 Year is a Kentucky straight rye in a 75cl bottle, bottled in bond at 100 proof (50% ABV) without chill filtration. The mash is 95% rye and 5% malted rye, and the whiskey matured for at least eight years in American oak.
The nose combines rye grass with cinnamon, clove and red apple. The palate opens lightly oaky, moves to a sweeter centre, and develops spearmint, clove and apple. Mint and peppercorn linger in a long finish.
