New Riff Bottled in Bond is a Kentucky straight bourbon from New Riff Distilling in Newport, Kentucky. It is four years old, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a 75cl bottle, and not chill-filtered.
The mash bill is 65% corn, 30% rye and 5% malted barley. The high rye content gives a spicier, more savoury bourbon than is traditional.
The nose offers butterscotch, fresh oak, vanilla, rye spice and orange peel. On the palate come caramel, cherry, vanilla, clove, cinnamon, mint and dark berry. The finish is long and led by rye, with brambly fruit, white pepper and clove.
