New Riff – Cask Strength Sour Mash Kentucky Single Malt Whiskey (75cl, 56.4%)

This is a Kentucky single malt from New Riff, made at its distillery in Newport. It is a sour mash whiskey, aged for a minimum of 7 years in full-size new American oak barrels. It is bottled uncut and non-chill-filtered at cask strength, 56.4% (113.8 proof), in a 750ml bottle. The mash bill is 100% malted barley, using six malts including caramel, honey, chocolate and kiln coffee malt. This bottle comes from batch 23.01.106. The nose has roasted nuts, dark chocolate, malted milkshake and toasted oak. On the palate come rich caramel and coffee malt, fig jam, orange peel and baking spice, and the finish is long and warming, with cocoa, espresso and charred oak.
