New Riff Cask Strength Sour Mash Kentucky Single Malt Whiskey (75cl, 56.4%)

This is an American single malt from New Riff, made entirely from malted barley and distilled and aged at its distillery in Newport, Kentucky. It is a sour mash whiskey, matured for a minimum of 7 years in full-size new American oak barrels. This release is Batch 23.01.106. Six specialty malts go into the mash, among them caramel, honey, chocolate and kiln coffee malt. It is bottled at cask strength, 56.4% ABV (113.8 proof), uncut and non-chill filtered. The nose has roasted nuts, dark chocolate, malted milkshake and toasted oak. On the palate come rich caramel and coffee malt, fig jam, orange peel and baking spice. The finish is long and warming, with cocoa, espresso and charred oak.
