New Riff Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey (75cl)

A single barrel, barrel-proof bourbon from New Riff Distilling in Newport, Kentucky, in a 750ml bottle. The mash bill is 65% non-GMO corn, 30% rye and 5% malted barley, and the whiskey is aged for at least four years in toasted and charred new American oak barrels. Each barrel is bottled at its own natural proof, without chill filtration, so the strength differs from one bottle to the next. Documented bottlings run from about 105 to 112 proof. The distillery notes butterscotch, fresh oak, vanilla and rye spice on the nose. The palate is broad, with sweet vanilla and then clove, cinnamon, mint and dark berry. The finish is long and rye-led, with brambly red and black fruit, white pepper and clove.
