Nickel & Nickel John C. Sullenger Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 Oakville, Napa Valley (75cl, 14.6%)

This is a 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon from the John C. Sullenger vineyard, the home vineyard behind the Nickel & Nickel winery in Oakville, Napa Valley. It is the winery's signature wine. Thirty acres of clay loam are planted only to Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine was aged for 16 months in French oak, 55% of it new and 45% once-used, from a production of 1,800 cases. Red plum and raspberry aromas come with subtle spice and earthy notes. The palate is full and round, with layers of juicy red fruit and classic Oakville tannins. Soft toasted oak and spice carry a long finish.
