Nickel & Nickel Truchard Vineyard Chardonnay 2023 Carneros (75cl, 13.5%)

A single-vineyard 2023 Chardonnay from Nickel & Nickel, made entirely from fruit grown at Truchard Vineyard in Carneros, Napa Valley. Volcanic and clay-loam soils, foggy mornings and afternoon breezes let the grapes ripen slowly while keeping their acidity. The fruit is fermented in small sets in a mix of French oak and neutral barrels, then aged in French oak for nearly a year. The nose offers pineapple, mango, tangerine zest and honeysuckle. On the palate are ripe pear, white peach and citrus, with brioche, vanilla and a creamy middle. The finish is long, with citrus peel, stone fruit and a chalky freshness.
