Nikka Coffey Malt (70cl)

Coffey Malt is a Japanese single malt from Nikka, in a 70cl bottle. It was made at the Miyagikyo distillery. Coffey stills are more usually used for grain whisky, but this expression is made entirely from malted barley. It has a deep golden colour with amber glints. The nose is shy at first, then opens to caramel, cooked apple and toasted almonds. The palate is firm and dense, with a progression of strength that is never aggressive.
