Nikka Coffey Malt is a Japanese single malt in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled in a Coffey column still, a type of still generally used for grain whisky, which makes a malt whisky of an unusual kind. The nose brings cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, lemon and oak. The palate is pleasantly sweet, soft and lightly smoky, with cocoa, toffee and caramel. The finish is long, with toasted cereal and popcorn.
