Nikka – Coffey Malt Whisky (45%)

Nikka Coffey Malt Whisky is a Japanese malt whisky made from 100% malted barley and distilled in a continuous Coffey still, a method traditionally used for grain whisky, rather than in pot stills. It carries no age statement, is matured in older ex-bourbon casks and is bottled at 45% ABV. The nose brings candied lemon peel, honeyed spices, vanilla, banana bread and butterscotch, with nutmeg, cinnamon and a touch of green apple. The palate is silky, slightly oily and medium-bodied, with banana, peach, pineapple, caramel and toffee, then cinnamon and clove. The finish is medium in length, with sweet malt, soft fruit and gentle oak.
