A Japanese single grain whisky bottled at 45% ABV, distilled at Miyagikyo Distillery in Miyagi Prefecture. The mashbill is 95% corn and 5% malted barley, run through Coffey stills that Nikka imported from Scotland in 1963 and 1966.
It matures in re-filled, remade and re-charred American oak barrels. It has won Gold at the International Spirits Challenge, including in 2024 and 2025.
Vanilla and fresh corn lead the nose, with tropical fruit and citrus peel. The palate is creamy, with caramel, toffee, banana bread, coconut and candied melon. The finish is medium, with soft oak and a sweetness of peanut brittle and vanilla custard.
