Nikka Coffey Still Malt Whisky (75cl, 45%)

Nikka Coffey Still Malt Whisky is a Japanese whisky bottled at 45% in a 75cl bottle. It is made from 100% malted barley and distilled in continuous Coffey stills at Miyagikyo distillery, which has the only two Coffey stills in Japan. Because of the still type it is classed as grain whisky, despite its all-malt mashbill. It is matured in older casks chosen to preserve the malt character rather than add heavy wood influence. The nose is tinned peach and tropical fruit juice, baked banana and candied citrus, with coconut and spice. The palate is silky and dense, with cinnamon, clove and lemon peel, then biscuity oak and orange blossom honey. The finish is long and warming, with toasted oak and dark chocolate.
