Nikka From the Barrel (50cl)

Nikka From the Barrel is a Japanese blended whisky in a 50cl bottle. It combines single malts from Miyagikyo and Yoichi, making up 40 per cent of the blend, with a single grain whisky making up the other 60 per cent. Nikka was founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru. After the blend is made it rests in cask for three to six months, and it is then bottled straight from that cask, which gives the whisky its name. The nose is floral, fruity and spicy. The palate shows pepper and oak giving way to ripe peach, caramelised apple and honeysuckle, and the finish is long, with plum and peach over vanilla.
