Nikka Miyagikyo is a Japanese single malt without an age statement, from Nikka's Miyagikyo distillery in Miyagi prefecture. It is bottled at 45% in a 75cl bottle.
Taketsuru built the distillery in 1969 in a valley chosen for its pure water. The spirit shows sherry-cask influence, along with estery aromas from carefully selected yeast strains. This expression was released in 2016 as a permanent bottling.
The nose is fresh fruit, subtle sherry and a hint of spice. The palate is smooth and creamy, with delicate fruit, sherry and light spice, and the finish is clean and elegant.
