This is a blended whisky made for Nikka's 90th anniversary, bottled at 48% ABV without chill filtration. Chief Blender Hiromi Ozaki drew on more than 50 component whiskies from six Nikka distilleries, with stock reaching from the 1940s to the 2020s.
The blend includes malts from Yoichi and Miyagikyo, Ben Nevis in Scotland, and grain whiskies from Moji, Satsumatsukasa and Nishinomiya. 4,000 bottles were made worldwide, in Edo-bori carved glass, with a display box and booklet.
The nose is apple pie and raisin with gentle smoke and antique furniture. The palate is oak, cinnamon, roasted nuts and dark chocolate, with apricot jam and maple syrup. A gentle peat finish ends in pleasant bitterness.
