Nikka Taketsuru 17 Year Old is a Japanese blended whisky from Nikka Whisky Distilling Co., matured for 17 years. It has a dark brown colour. The nose opens with sweet citrus and orange, followed by sherry sweetness, raisins and a touch of leather. On the palate it is sweet and weighty, with honey, caramel and chocolate, candied orange peel, a little sharpness and spice. With time it turns woody, with a note of tobacco. The finish is of medium length, leaving dark chocolate and a leathery, earthy aftertaste.
