Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt is a Japanese blended malt at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is named after Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka.
The whisky is a blend of pot still malt from Yoichi and from Miyagikyo, the two Nikka distilleries, made from 100% malted barley. Maturation draws mainly on ex-sherry casks and remade American oak casks.
It is described as combining great softness with depth and complexity.
