Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt is a Japanese blended malt whisky from Nikka, the distiller founded in 1934. Masataka Taketsuru travelled alone to Scotland in 1918 to learn the craft of whisky-making. The whisky contains a high proportion of malt from Miyagikyo, with the remainder coming from Yoichi. It is aged for around 10 years on average, in a variety of cask types that include some sherry wood for extra richness.
