Yoichi 1980s is an official single malt from Nikka's Yoichi distillery on Hokkaido, Japan. It is a vatting made entirely of malt distilled between 1980 and 1989, bottled at 52% ABV in a 50cl bottle. The distillery's traditional production methods, including coal-fired distillation, add weight and depth to a coastal, firm style. The nose combines coastal air, citrus peel and orchard fruit with sootier smoke, toasted nuts and a hint of leather. The palate is powerful and oily, with malt sweetness, pepper, charred oak, salinity and a savoury, smoky edge. The finish is long, warming and drying.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
