Nikka Yoichi is a Japanese single malt, bottled at 45% ABV. It is made from 100% malted barley and distilled in pot stills heated directly by coal fire, a traditional method.
The distillery stands on the coast of Hokkaido, in the north of Japan, and its location is part of the whisky's character. Maturation draws mainly on ex-sherry casks and new American oak casks.
It is described as a balanced whisky with a fine peat profile and maritime aromas.
