Nino Negri Ispirazione Passito Alpi Retiche di Sondrio IGT 50cl (50cl)

Ispirazione is a passito from Nino Negri in Valtellina, in the Alpi Retiche di Sondrio IGT, sold in a 50cl bottle. It is made mainly from Nebbiolo, known locally as Chiavennasca. The grapes are left to dry naturally to concentrate their sugars, aromas and flavours before vinification. The wine is a deep, brilliant amber. The nose brings dried fruit, figs, honey, dried apricot and sweet spice, with hints of caramel and vanilla. On the palate the sweetness is balanced by fresh acidity, and the texture is rich and velvety without heaviness. The finish is persistent and aromatic. It works as a meditation wine or alongside desserts, blue cheeses and foie gras.
