This is a 15-year-old single grain from North British, a Lowlands distillery, distilled in January 2011. After its first period of maturation it was moved to a small Mizunara octave cask for a finish in Japanese oak.
It is a single cask release from Duncan Taylor's The Octave series, from cask #5952066. A total of 85 bottles were filled in September 2026 for the 60th anniversary of Kirsch Import, at 53.4% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The nose offers sweet cereal notes with caramel, honey and vanilla. The palate is soft and round, with toffee and roasted hazelnuts, citrus, sandalwood and a gentle pepper note. The finish is long and dry.
