A small-batch blended malt Scotch from Thompson Bros, aged 8 years and bottled at 44.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The blend is mainly Glen Ord and Clynelish, matured in refill hogsheads with some refill sherry wood, plus a small addition of heavily peated Highland malt. Each batch is reduced to bottling strength slowly, by 0.25% ABV a day over 47 days, almost entirely in cask. The nose is fresh peaches and cream, wet stones, kiwi, white pepper, beeswax and marzipan. The palate is silky, with mandarin, vanilla, mineral freshness, tropical fruits and a waxy texture. The finish brings honeydew melon, ripe peaches, candle wax and soft oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
