This is a 40 year old Lowland single grain whisky from the North of Scotland distillery, bottled by Douglas Laing & Co. for its Executive Decision range, the name used outside Europe for the Director's Cut series. The spirit was distilled in October 1973 and bottled in March 2014 at a natural strength of 47.9% ABV. It comes from cask number 10232 and was released as 69 bottles in a timber presentation case. The nose opens with butterscotch and cinnamon before turning to toasted coconut. The palate is sweet, with caramel over vanilla ice cream and a run into mocha, and the finish stays sweet with a late touch of tobacco.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
