This is a 50 year old single grain from the closed North of Scotland Distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 40.4%. It was the distillery's first official bottling, released in 2017 in an edition of 1,500 bottles. Whisky from six bourbon casks was married for the release, which Ricky Christie, son of the distillery's founder, brought out together with Elixir Distillers. It is chill-filtered and has no added colour. Tasting notes describe pecan, vanilla cream and toffee on the nose, with nectarine, raspberry and baked apple. The palate is dense and creamy, turning juicier with nutmeg, cinnamon and blood orange. The finish of walnut, toasted almond and vanilla fudge lingers.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
