North Star 1973 49 Year Old Cask Series 021 Blended Scotch Whisky (70cl, 51.9%)

This is a 49 year old blended Scotch whisky from North Star Spirits, the Glasgow independent bottler, released as Cask Series 021. It was distilled in December 1973 and matured in a single Oloroso sherry hogshead, then bottled at a natural cask strength of 51.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The outturn is 60 bottles. The nose offers rum-like grain notes, deep oak and banana. On the palate come sweet Manuka honey and toasted sourdough, and the finish is long, velvety and fruit-forward.
