North Star Caol Ila 15 Year Old 2011 Islay Single Malt (70cl, 49.5%)

This is a 15 year old Islay single malt from Caol Ila, selected and bottled by the independent bottler North Star Spirits. It was distilled in 2011, matured for 15 years and bottled at 49.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Caol Ila stands on the north-eastern coast of Islay and is known for peated whisky with smoke, citrus, coastal salinity and sweet malt. After 15 years in oak, that character is described as taking on mature fruit, sweetness and spice alongside the smoke. North Star is a Glasgow-based bottler founded in 2016, and this is a limited release.
