North Star Ledaig 2010 16 Year Old (70cl, 53.9%)

This is a 16 year old Ledaig, the peated style made at Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull. It was distilled in 2010 and bottled independently by North Star Spirits at a cask strength of 53.9%, in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose combines peat smoke and sea spray with lemon peel, orchard fruit and sweet malt. On the palate, earthy smoke and salted citrus meet honeyed malt, black pepper, toasted oak and a faint medicinal note. The finish is long, smoky and warming, with sea salt, citrus peel, pepper and drying oak.
