North Star Spirits Vega 22 Year Old 1996 Legendary Blend Limited Edition Number 6 (2019) (70cl, 43.9%)

Vega 22 Year Old is the sixth edition of North Star Spirits' Vega blended malt, made from malt whiskies at least 22 years old. It was bottled in July 2019 at 43.9% in a 70cl bottle, in a release of 1,205 bottles, with no added caramel. North Star Spirits describes the edition as rich and decadent. The company also says that in 11,000 years Vega will replace Polaris as the North Star. The nose brings hazelnuts, lightly burnt caramel, rum raisins, autumn leaves and brioche, with chocolate and stout. The palate is oily, with apricot jam, green herbs, liquorice, cinnamon, Turkish coffee and Seville oranges. The finish has earth, leaves, gentle pepper and a note of amaro.
