Nulu West Coast Exclusive Batch WC1 is a small-batch bourbon from Prohibition Craft Spirits, bottled at 52% ABV (104 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It is a blend of bourbon of between four and six years old, distilled by MGP, which is then finished with toasted French oak staves.
The finishing was tasted throughout rather than run to a set time, and for this batch it lasted weeks under various levels of toast. The aim was a balanced, rich and sweet-toasty bourbon rather than an oak-heavy one.
Tasting notes describe sweet corn and caramel with toasted vanilla, warm baking spice and the sweet toastiness of French oak.
