A 10 year old cask-strength bourbon from Nulu, bottled by New Louisville Whiskey Co. at 140.2 proof (70.1% ABV). It is a single-barrel release from batch A159, and the strength puts it in the bracket of bourbons over 140 proof known as HAZMAT.
The 'KY Custard' nickname points to its dessert-like character. The nose offers deep vanilla custard, seasoned oak, toasted brown sugar and pipe tobacco. The palate brings bold caramel, cinnamon stick, buttery pie crust, charred oak and nutmeg, with a full body.
The finish is long, with spice, burnt sugar, rich vanilla and a touch of heat.
