Derby City Jam is a 9 year old straight bourbon from the New Louisville Whiskey Co., known as NULU. It was matured in new charred American oak barrels and bottled at barrel strength, 65.1% ABV (130.2 proof), without chill filtration. It is a small batch, limited release with post-apocalyptic label artwork.
The nose offers black cherries, baked figs, vanilla bean, toasted marshmallow and rich oak. On the palate there is raspberry jam, charred oak, molasses, dark chocolate and warm cinnamon. The finish is long and warming, with sweet pipe tobacco, cracked pepper and lingering stone fruit.
