Nulu 'Red Hot Heat' is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from the Single Barrel Select Series, aged for seven years in new charred oak barrels. It is bottled at 70.7% ABV (141.4 proof), above the 140 proof level known as hazmat, and is non-chill-filtered. This bottle comes from barrel KY 193.
The nose is cinnamon, toasted oak, red hot sweets, vanilla bean and caramel. On the palate it is dense and oily, with baking spice, brown sugar, cracked pepper and burnt orange peel. The finish is long and warming, with charred oak, spice and dark fruit.
