Nusbaumer Eau-de-Vie de Framboise (70cl, 45%)

Eau-de-Vie de Framboise from Joseph Nusbaumer is a raspberry eau-de-vie from Alsace, bottled at 45% vol in a 70cl bottle. Each litre takes 8 kg of wild raspberries. Because the berries are low in sugar, they are fermented for a time together with grape eau-de-vie. The mash is then distilled in copper stills and aged for 2 years in cask, which keeps the impression of fresh fruit. The strength is reduced with spring water from the producer's own source in the Vosges. The result is a clear, fresh spirit with a pronounced raspberry scent and flavour.
