A 10 year old Highland single malt from Oban, bottled at a natural cask strength of 58% ABV. It is part of Diageo's 2024 Special Releases, the series called Spirited Xchange 2.0, which centres on cask experiments.
The whisky was matured in refill American oak, then finished in freshly charred American oak barrels seasoned with Oloroso sherry. It is non-chill filtered.
The nose offers sea breeze, baked apple, citrus peel, vanilla and light floral notes. On the palate it is rich and textured, with apple, pear, honey, citrus, spice and coastal salinity over subtle smoke. The finish is long and warming, with spice, oak, citrus zest and a lingering maritime note.
