This is an 11 year old Oban single malt from the 2023 Special Release series, called The Soul of Calypso. It is bottled at 58% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The Malt Master finished it in Caribbean Pot Still rum casks, taking inspiration from the rhythms of calypso. The rum casks add tropical notes of sugar cane and mango to Oban's blend of Highland and Island styles.
The nose is fresh and sea-breezy, with citrus, tropical fruit and a dry spiciness. The palate is oil-smooth, sweet, fruity and lightly salty, and the finish stays spicy.
