Oban 14 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from Oban Distillery in the West Highlands, founded in 1794 and working with just two copper stills. It was aged in ex-bourbon American oak casks and bottled at 43% ABV.
The nose is coastal, with sea salt spray, light smoke and honeyed malt, then citrus blossom, orchard fruit, toffee and ginger. The palate runs from sweet orange, pear and dried fig into clove spice, bran biscuit and a delicate smoky haze. The finish carries smoky malt, oak spice and a saline note, with lemon curd warmth.
