This is a 15 year old single malt from Oban, a Scottish distillery counted among the country's oldest. It is an exclusive release for the US market, in a 75cl bottle.
The whisky spent its 15 years in American oak hogsheads before a finish in Ruby Port casks, which adds red fruit to the maritime character of the distillery's harbour town.
The nose is fruity, with white wine and a hint of sea breeze. The palate is creamy and smooth, with juicy red fruit, raspberry, salt and peppery spice, leading to a dry white pepper finish.
