Oban Distillers Edition 2022 is a Highland single malt from Oban, the 2022 release in Diageo's double-matured Classic Malts series. It was distilled in 2008, bottled in 2022 at 43% ABV, and comes in a 75cl bottle.
After its first maturation the whisky was given a second one in Montilla Fino sherry casks. That finish adds dryness and nuttiness to Oban's maritime character.
The nose offers sea air, orange peel and toasted nuts over waxy fruit. The palate is rich and oily, with dried figs, salted caramel and sherry nuttiness, and the finish is dry and maritime with a long Fino echo.
