Oban Heart of the Harbor is a 12 year old Highland single malt, bottled at a natural cask strength of 54.7% in a 750ml bottle. It is one of eight whiskies in Diageo's 2025 Special Releases collection, Horizons Unbound, which was curated by Master Blender Dr Stuart Morrison.
The whisky was matured for twelve years in ex-bourbon American oak casks and is non-chill filtered. It is released as a celebration of the distillery's seaside town and comes in a carton decorated with a Highland gull over Oban's harbour.
The nose is honeyed spice, toffee, citrus peel and sea breeze. The palate is creamy, with tinned peaches in syrup, warming spice and a crackle of salt, and the finish is long and warming, with toffee, citrus and lingering coastal character.
