Octomore 04.1 is a five-year-old, heavily peated single malt from Bruichladdich on Islay. Bottled in 2011 at 62.5% ABV, this limited edition had an outturn of 15,000 bottles and a stated peat level of 167 PPM.
Baked apple, pear and dried apricot lead into cinnamon, anise and toasted oak on the nose. The creamy palate brings butterscotch, dark chocolate, cherrywood smoke and ginger, followed by a long finish of honeyed vanilla and lingering peat.
