This is Octomore 06.2 from Bruichladdich, a limited edition made in homage to the lost Octomore distillery, the Hebridean story of the Montgomery family. It is described as the world's most heavily peated whisky, made with barley malted to 167 ppm. It was distilled in Bruichladdich's tall, narrow-necked stills and is likened to a velvet glove around an iron fist. This was a travel retail exclusive, one of 18,000 bottles produced.
