Octomore 06.3 is the sixth edition of Octomore, made by Bruichladdich on Islay. It is made entirely from Islay barley grown on the neighbouring Lorgba Field, and is peated to 258 ppm.
The spirit is distilled very slowly and matured for five years in bourbon casks. It is bottled at 64% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour.
The nose combines sea spray, salty air, moorland and wild herbs with a clear peat note. On the palate, strong peat gives way to rising sweetness of grapes, cherries, toffee, dark chocolate and maple syrup, with a light touch of wood. The finish is very long and powerful.
