Octomore 09.1 is a five-year-old Islay single malt. It was distilled in 2012 and matured in ex-whiskey casks of American oak. The brand holds that whisky bottled young can show as much complexity and character as an older one, and this release is an example of that view.
The nose offers smoke, oak and layers of sweetness. The palate is soft, floral and nutty. The finish is long, smoky, syrupy and warming.
