Octomore 10.3 is a six-year-old Islay single malt made entirely from Scottish barley grown on James Brown's Islay farm. It spends its full maturation in American oak casks, which contribute sweet and spicy aromas. The release comprises 24,000 bottles and has a strength of 61.3%.
Earthy smoke, lemon, salt and thyme develop into briny aromas with vanilla and oak. A salty opening on the palate brings honey and lemon before stronger peat and oak. The sweet, chocolate-led finish shifts towards rubber, smoke and herbs.
