Octomore 10.3 is a single malt from Bruichladdich on Islay, a distillery whose Octomore range is known for using the most heavily peated barley in the world. This edition was produced in 2013 in a run of 24,000 bottles. The whisky spent six years in ex-bourbon casks that came from Heaven Hill, Jack Daniel's, Jim Beam and Buffalo Trace. The nose is rich and intense, with peat, vanilla and pepper. On the palate it is fresh, balanced and slightly salty, with sweet vanilla, honey, lemon and peat. The finish is sweet, dry and fairly long.
